Randy is very easily the face of The Crumpits being the main character pretty much the entire time The Crumpits have existed and is the most recognisable and memorable character for Crumpit viewers. Randy has quite the history that goes back a long way and has a lot of changes that came along the way. This pizza loving fella is almost 7 years old by now and has definitely come a long way.
Randy started out very simple. He was nothing more than a Folkmanis pack rat puppet in need of a name and personality. He got the name Randy Rat because the name had a nice ring to it and really fit him. He was first envisioned as a very filthy and unsanitary rat who really didn't think much of anything and was constantly on the run from his scary mother. His best friends were a big green snake named Sammy and a football player named Rupert Shmears. These two characters would retire later on but returned for the special "A CPT New Year or Randy's Birthday Bash".
Come late 2017- early 2018 the decision is made for the Crumpits to only use original custom made puppets. Randy is now rebuilt and redesigned. There are very few similarities between the first and second rat. He still keeps the signature brown fur as well as his beige tail and claws for hands. He now has red feather hair and white eyes with blue eyelids. He also sports a yellow vest, red and white shoes and a multi colored baseball cap.
In late 2018 the decision is made to rebuild the rat once again. He is redesigned again but keeps some of the things he had before. He is now made from a plush type fur that's less shaggy than the previous Randy. He now has regular hands as opposed to claws and the skin parts of him are now pink instead of beige. he has bigger eyes without eyelids and now has a pair of dark brown eyebrows to give his eyes some definition. He still sports a baseball cap and shoes just in different colors this time, also he wears some long striped knee socks.
In 2020 Randy is given a bit of an upgrade mainly on his face. He now has bigger pupils with better focus. Also he now has whiskers made from thin brown yarn.
Later into 2020 Randy is given some major modifications for the special The Rat who Saved Christmas. He now has a new set of hands with magnets inside. His socks are removed and his green shoes are replaced with a set of kids sized brown running shoes. His hat is now replaced with a new one made out of felt with different colours. His whiskers are now made from fishing wire and are more accurate. Also his nose and tail have been replaced
In early to mid 2021 Randy is given some slight modifications during the first season of The Rat Pack. His hat is now removable via a magnet. His ears are modified with a thick furry rim long the edges. He is given regular feet giving the option to change or remove his shoes. He is also given a pair of removable stick on eyelids made for a photo shoot in which he is made to look very sleepy.
In late 2021 Randy is modified among other Crumpit characters for A Crumpits Christmas Carol. He is given some magenta beads in his pupils to give him the now established Crumpit style eyes. He is also given a modified mouth with a thicker tongue.
In 2022 Randy is completely rebuilt as the previous Randy becomes a little too worn out for performing. His design is pretty much the same with slight modifications and changes. Overall he's a lot bigger than the previous puppet and his fur is fluffier and a lighter different brown color. His shoes are now made of plastic and foam and are multi colored. He also now sports a red and white plaid bandanna around his neck.

Baby Randy-
Originally made for The Rat who Saved Christmas. The baby version of Randy was made in late 2020. It is frequently used on the show for the Baby Pictures segment hosted by Twister.
Brad Rat-
While this one isn't exactly an additional Randy puppet so to speak it's definitely worth mentioning Brad Rat. Made to be Randy's stunt double for comedic purposes Brad was designed to be a dirty and more muscular looking duplicate of Randy with the two sharing a lot of major design features.
