Stuart the Car puppet comission

This was quite the experience. A very big and very special recent puppet commission was this fella Stuart the Car!

This guy was commissioned by ventriloquist Timothy R Spatz as he was looking for a new addition to his cast. He wanted a talking inanimate object but couldn't decide what. In the end he settled on a disgruntled car with blinking headlights. He took an awfully long time to finish but made his way to his new owner just last week

Stuart was made from a cardboard from lined with this cushioning covered in polar fleece. his windows are made from clear plastic with engraved cracked lines. The tires were made from thick plastic foam mats. He has a rod inside that can move his eyelids up and down so he has blinking head lights. there is a lot of paint on him giving the little details of rust and dirt and stuff to make him look beat up.  He also has a license plate with his name on it.

Aside from building the puppet we are also responsible for designing Stuart before he made it to the building stages.
